Abruzzo
Sort By:

Abruzzo is a mountainous region located in central Italy along the Adriatic Sea. Home to one of Italy's most typical red grape varietals, Montepulciano, Abruzzo is fifth among Italy's region in terms of total wine production. The two most widely known DOC wines are Montepulcian d'Abruzzo and Trebbiano d'Abruzzo, one red and one white wine both varietal-labeled. Quality and styles can vary from young, quaffable, fruit driven wines, to serious, structured, robust wines capable of developing with age. As of recent the lone DOCG in Abruzzo is the red Montepulicano d'Abruzzo Colline Teramane from the northern hills of Arbuzzo.
