The winery bears the name of the small village located in the Bussia subzone of Monforte d'Alba. With about 4 total hectares under vine in Bussia shared between the likes of Aldo Conterno and Oddero, Bussia Soprana has extremely valuable land. Along with the austere Bussia, Bussia Soprana produces elegant Barolo from the Colonello vineyard and highly distinctive Barbera from Mosconi.
