Azienda Agricola Bastianich was founded in 1997 by chef/restaurateur Lidia Bastianich and her son Joe. Located in the unique area of Colli Orientali del Friuli, Bastianich produces distinctive white and red wines from local varietals, as well as more modern expressions that combine indigenous and international varietals.
Tocai Friulano: James Suckling, Wine Spectator 90 "Perfumed aromas of peach, with hints of aniseed. Full-bodied, with fresh acidity and a long finish."
Merlot, Refosco, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc: This stylish combination of both indigenous and international varietals, creates a complex wine with ripe fruit and earthy tones on the nose, with a lush palate and firm acidic and tannic structure. After barrel aging of 18 months, the wine spends another year in bottle before release.
Tocai Friulano: A native white varietal to the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region in northeastern Italy, Tocai Fiulano produces a highly distinct and focused wine when grown correctly. The Bastianich Tocai Friulano is produced in the Colli Orientali area of Friuli, an area known for its unique terroir and home to some of Italy’s greatest white wines.

"The 2006 Vespa Bianco possesses attractive layers of succulent peaches intertwined with smoke, earthiness and French oak. This medium-bodied white exhibits outstanding harmony and tons of style. Vespa Bianco is 45% Chardonnay, 45% Sauvignon and 10% late-harvested Picolit. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2016."
